Breathing Loop
The breathing hose is heavy-duty tubing. Like all parts on the Meg, it is designed to withstand lots of abuse. The DSV and all hose couplings are machined out of copolymer acetal, and the T-piece on the counterlung is injection molded.
Each T-piece has a very effective water trap to prevent flooding of the breathing hose from entering the scrubber or sensor area. This allows the breathing hose to be partially flooded and completely purged without any consequence. It is also very strong.
Counterlungs are made out of a rugged Cordura Nylon. The valves use standard couplings, so it's easy to plumb gas from outside sources (even your OC buddy!) into the loop. Hoses can be routed along the counterlungs for a very compact and straightforward package. Neoprene counterlungs are available as an option for lower overall profile.
Hose couplings are threaded differently to prevent the user from accidentally reversing the loop.
