ISC Product and Projects Experience
First and only CCR system that has an open architecture frame work to support a variety of CO2 scrubber systems, electronics, gas supply cylinders, and harness and buoyancy devices. This modular approach enables the user to configure the CCR to meet operational requirements. First CCR system to successfully integrate other commercially available OEM company’s dive computers and system controllers into existing ISC automated oxygen injection controller, (APECS™) system. All integrated electronics pass all current regulatory requirements.
ISC Current Products
- Megalodon™ CCR: Nicknamed the Meg, it is the ISC flagship model. The system has been in production for 8 years and there are over 1000 Meg CCR systems in the field. The Meg has been used all over the world and used as deep as 742ffw/224mfw. The Megalodon CCR has a reputation for reliability and can withstand extreme use. The Meg may be integrated with several types of electronic systems, scrubber sizes and types, gas supply cylinders, harness and BC assemblies. There are 21 versions of the Meg to support customer needs. The Meg is being used as a side mounted system for penetration into extreme enclosed spaces and doubled up as a twin system for CCR redundancy for extreme deep diving operations where carrying open circuit bailout is impractical.
- Predator CCR System: The Predator is extremely robust lightweight (20lb) modular CCR system that is designed to be used for surface or subsurface operations. Applications are; Military operations needing very shallow water (VSW) CCR that can operate in multi-depths up to 132fsw/40msw. It may operate as an oxygen CCR or a mixed gas system. Surface operations environments that would present immediate danger to health and life (IDHL). Example applications include Homeland security, Law enforcement, Firefighting, EOD, and mining, enclosed space or any application where APR, PAPR, and SCBA systems are not applicable due to limited durations in the IDHL environment, including zero oxygen environments and of course subsea applications.
- Pathfinder CCR System: The Pathfinder has the same applications as the Predator but in a larger package 34lbs/15.3kg, The Pathfinder is designed to go where the Predator cannot.
- Radial Scrubber Canisters: ISC has 3 sizes of the radial. 8.0lb/3.6kg, 5.5lb/2.49kg, and 4.1lb/1.6kg. Each system is tested to the EN 14143:2003 standard and U.S Navy guidelines.
- Buoyancy Compensator: The Tetradon™ back mounted wing is designed to aid the diver with trim by having more lift at the bottom of the wing while providing for minimal induced drag. This system may be used for side mounting and other unconventional configurations. The wing has a 50lb/22.7kg buoyancy capacity.
- Cylinder Mounting System: Shadow Mounts™ are used to lower profiles of cylinders mounted on other cylinders and provide for a quick change out.
- Back mounted counter lung: The Manta™ BMCL will optimize and free up the front portion of the diver especially for smaller divers with smaller frames. The BMCL will fit on current ISC products and can be fitted to other competing manufactures CCR’s. The Manta™ is popular for dual applications for surface and subsurface operations.
- Bail out valve: The BOV is a combination of the CCR Dive/Surface valve and an open circuit second stage with enhancements. This BOV can be fitted to existing full face masks and helmet systems.
- Remote COPIS™ valve: The remote Constant Oxygen Pressure Injection valve combines the best of oxygen constant flow at a 0.7 Lpm, and a manual bypass valve in a very small form factor. The valve can be used with an electronic automated oxygen injection system controller (eCCR) for more efficient gas injection system. The combination also works as an oxygen injection “parachute” if one system fails to automatically add oxygen. This system combines with oxygen manual addition as a tertiary back up.
Current Off The Shelf ISC Electronic Systems
Advanced Personnel Environmental Controller System (APECS™).
The APECS™ family of electronics is used to support ISC closed circuit rebreathing systems. The APECS™ has been in the field for 8 years. The APECS™ system is designed to be used in a variety of roles to fit the operational needs of the customer. The APECS™ system is used in some of the most challenging places on Earth, with cave exploration at the top of the list. Cave divers using the APECS™ system to explore over 2 miles/3.2km through the earth and as deep as 700ffw/212mfw for hours at a time depend on the proven system with their lives, as the option of a safe and fast exit is not possible if a critical failure of the electronics is experienced. Other diving operations that the APECS™ are designed to operate in are: saturation operations, scientific, military, recreational, and other roles relating to deeper exploration diving. APECS™ electronics provide the operational user the flexibility of conducting a greater operational role from one package, thus decreasing operational costs and inventory. Please see attachments for feature list and operational description.
APECS™ Isolator System
The APECS™ system may have other approved OEM dive computers, monitors and devices integrated into the system and will not sacrifice independence of each redundant system. This reflects design principles of having two different design teams system displays monitor the same oxygen sensor system and give the same data to the diver.
ISC Products Under Development
- HARD CAN electronics system: ISC designs electronic systems to maximize fail safe systems and protect itself from outside influences that can influence reliability. See the APECS™ system description. ISC is designing electronics that will fit into ISC’s smaller CCR systems and maximize modularity so customers may field replace components adding convenience to the customer.
